About WJEC A Level Physics
The WJEC A Level Physics exam (specification 1420) is taken as five units. At AS, Unit 1, Motion, Energy and Matter, covers kinematics, dynamics, energy, solids under stress, stars and nuclear structure, and Unit 2, Electricity and Light, covers conduction, resistance, d.c. circuits, waves, refraction, photons and lasers. At A2, Unit 3, Oscillations and Nuclei, covers circular motion, vibrations, kinetic theory, thermal physics and nuclear physics, and Unit 4, Fields and Options, covers capacitance, electrostatic and gravitational fields, orbits, electromagnetism and one option topic. Unit 5 is a practical examination.
